✦ Synopsis
The double labelled lignan precursors [1,2-13 C 2 ]coniferin and the glucoside of [1,2-13 C 2 ]ferulic acid were prepared by classical synthetic methods. Pure double labelled lignan precursors could only be obtained after separation from their contaminating Z-isomers and dihydro by-products by high-performance liquid chromatography.

## Abstract The synthesis of (1,2‐ ^13^C~2~) 2‐phosphoglycelic acid, 5, from commercially‐available (1,2‐ ^13^C~2~) bromoacetic acid is described along with some of its solution NMR characteristics.
13 13 [2-C]cyclohexanone was synthesized through [ Clcyanation of cyclopentanone followed by acetylation, reduction and ring expansion. Treatment with cupric bromide/lithium bromide and dehydrobromination of the resulting labeled 1,6-dibromohexanone in a "one pot" procedure gave [2-13C]phenol.
