✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A method of preparing ^18^O‐labelled nicotinamide, involving cyanopyridine, H~2~ ^18^O, and 1,1′3,3′‐tetramethylguanidine as a catalyst is described. The desired product is produced in 91% chemical yield and 97.5% isotopic incorporation. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

## Abstract A facile method for the preparation of ^18^O labeled ara‐C and ara‐U is described. The method provides a means of incorporating ^18^O specifically at the 2‐position of the nucleobase. The site and level of label was established using mass spectrometry.
A method is described for the preparation of concentrated solutions (50–70%) of ^18^O‐labelled H~2~O~2~ in water. All singly ^2^H‐, ^13^C‐ and ^18^O‐labelled species of peroxyformic acid have been synthesized by the reaction of appropriately labelled formic acid and H~2~O~2~.
BmMARY N-Fluoropyridinium triflate was labelled with 18P proceeding through N-trimethylsilylpyridinium triflate and [ 18F] F2 diluted to 1% in Ne. A typical experiment afforded this new fluorine-18 transfer reagent with up to 46% radiochemical yield. The specific activity of 18F-labelled N-fluoropyr
The preparation of 1 7 0 -and 180-labelled hypophosphate by oxidation of diphosphite (P2-P4 acid) with iodine-water is described. The 162 MHz NMR 31P(18O) isotope shift of 1 8 0 -l a b e l l e d hypophosphate is 2.42 Hz (0.0149 ppm), the relatively large value compared to l\*O-pyrophosphate, 1.73 Hz
180]-Chlorocarbonylsulfenyl chloride with an isotopic purity of 92% was prepared in three steps starting with the [180]-hydrolysis of 2-ethyl-l,3-dioxolane to [' 80]-propanal, which was then converted to [180]-g-1 -methylpropyl ?-methyl dithiocarbonate, which was then chlorinated to give the title c
