✦ Synopsis

The nickel-catalyzed isomerization of geraniol and prenol in roacetic acid combination. Catalyst deactivation occurs in the course of the reaction owing to coordination of the formed homogeneous and two-phase systems has been investigated. The best results in terms of activity and selectivity have been aldehyde group to the nickel species or as a result of protonolysis of hydrido-or (π-allyl)nickel complexes. obtained in homogeneous systems with a bis(cycloocta-1,5diene)nickel(0)/1,4-bis(diphenylphosphanyl)butane/trifluo-

## Abstract **Nothing to sm(Ir)k at**: Under appropriate reaction conditions, iridium hydride catalysts promote the isomerization of primary allylic alcohols. The best catalysts, like (__R__)‐**1** (P green, O red, N blue, Ir yellow), deliver the desired chiral aldehydes with excellent enantioselec

## Abstract Treatment of allylic alcohols containing a 1,1‐disubstituted alkene with a palladium catalyst and hydrogen gas (1 bar) results in facile isomerization to their corresponding trisubstituted (__E__)‐allylic alcohols, along with small amounts of the corresponding hydrogenated products.
