## Abstract **BACKGROUND:** Cheese whey powder (CWP) is a concentrated source of lactose and other essential nutrients for ethanol fermentation. CWP solution containing different concentrations of total sugar was fermented to ethanol in an up‐flow packed‐column bioreactor (PCBR) at a constant hydra
