✦ Synopsis

The title ternary mixed-ligand chromium(III) complex, [Cr(C~5~H~7~O~2~)(C~2~O~4~)(C~12~H~8~N~2~)]·3H~2~O, features a distorted octahedral geometry completed by three different bidentate chelating ligands, viz. 1,10-phenanthroline, acetylacetonate and oxalate. Complex molecules are linked by π–π stacking interactions between phenanthroline rings, and C—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds to form a three-dimensional structure.
