The title compound, [Eu 2 (H 2 I 2 O 10 )(H 2 O) 6 ](ClO 4 ) 2 Á2H 2 O, is isostructural with the corresponding Pr, Sm and Gd phases. It features Eu 3+ cations, which are coordinated by centrosymmetric H 2 I 2 O 10 4À anions and water molecules, forming positively charged sheets, separated by perchl
The structure of [(H 2 O) 7 CeCl 2 Ce(H 2 O) 7 ]Cl 4 , or [Ce 2 Cl 2 -(H 2 O) 14 ]Cl 4 , has been redetermined at 120 K and re®ned in space group P1 (No. 2) with a centrosymmetric cation. Re®nements in space groups P1 and P1 (No. 1) are discussed.
In the title compound, (C 5 H 14 N 2 ) 2 [Bi 2 Cl 10 ]Á2H 2 O, each Bi III atom of the centrosymmetric anion is six-coordinate in a distorted octahedral geometry. The salt adopts a threedimensional network arising from the hydrogen bonds between the cations, anions and water molecules.
