✦ Synopsis
The title compound, [Cu(C 2 O 4 ) 2 (C 6 H 9 N 2 ) 2 ], crystallizes in the space group P2 1 /c, with the Cu atom located at a centre of symmetry. It is a neutral coordination complex in which the metal exhibits a tetragonally elongated octahedral trans-CuO 4 N 2 coordination environment. Extensive intermolecular hydrogen bonding between the oxalate anions and the ammonium cations determines the molecular packing in the crystal.

In the title compound, [Cu(C~4~H~3~O~4~)~2~(C~6~H~6~N~2~O)~2~], the Cu^II^ atom lies on a centre of symmetry and adopts a 4+2 elongated octahedral geometry with two hydrogen maleate ligands in axial positions. The complex molecules are linked __via__ N—H...O hydrogen bonds into a two-dimensional net
