✦ Synopsis

In the title compound, [Cu(C~4~H~3~O~4~)~2~(C~6~H~6~N~2~O)~2~], the Cu^II^ atom lies on a centre of symmetry and adopts a 4+2 elongated octahedral geometry with two hydrogen maleate ligands in axial positions. The complex molecules are linked via N—H...O hydrogen bonds into a two-dimensional network and further form a three-dimensional structure via weak C—H...O interactions.
