✦ Synopsis
The Mn atom in the title compound, [Mn(C~12~H~8~NO~2~)~2~(H~2~O)~4~], lies on a centre of inversion in an all-trans-N~2~O~4~Mn octahedron; as the 4-(4-pyridyl)benzoate ligands bind to Mn through the pyridyl N atom, the compound is formally a zwitterion. Hydrogen bonds link adjacent zwitterions into a three-dimensional network.

The title Mn^II^ complex, [Mn(C~9~H~10~NO~2~)~2~(H~2~O)~4~]·2H~2~O, is monomeric and centrosymmetric. It contains two 4-dimethylaminobenzoate ligands, four coordinated and two uncoordinated water molecules, all ligands being monodentate. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Mn atom fo
In the structure of the title compound, [Zn(C 7 H 4 N 3 OS) 2 -(H 2 O) 4 ]Á2H 2 O, the Zn II atom, located on an inversion centre, is coordinated by the pyridyl groups of two oxadiazole ligands and four water molecules. The packing is dominated by a three-dimensional system of hydrogen bonds.
