โœฆ Synopsis

The relative rate constants for the hydrogen atom abstraction by CCl&H=CH. radical from CHtC12, CHC13, CHaCOCHa, CH&N, C C ~H ~C H ~, C6H50CH3, CH3CH0, and CHIOH in the liquid phase at 20ยฐC have been measured. It was shown that these reaction rate constants are correlated by the two-parameter Taft equation with p * = 0.726 f 0.096, Y * = 1.22 f 0.16. A relationship between r* and bond dissociation energy D(R-H) has been found for the abstraction reactions of different free radicals.
