✦ Synopsis
The title La^III^ complex, [La~2~(C~7~H~3~NO~4~)~3~(H~2~O)~5~]·H~2~O, forms a layer-type polymeric structure with La^III^ ions bridged by pyridine-3,4-dicarboxylate ligands. The asymmetric unit contains two La^III^ ions, the first exhibiting a distorted tricapped trigonal prismatic geometry (nine-coordinate) and the other a bicapped dodecahedral configuration (ten-coordinate).
