✦ Synopsis
The coordination geometry of the Co II atom in the title complex, [Co(NCO) 2 (C 12 H 12 N 6 ) 2 ] n or [Co(NCO) 2 (bbtz) 2 ] n , where bbtz is 1,4-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-methyl)benzene, is distorted octahedral, in which the Co II atom lies on an inversion centre and is coordinated by four N atoms from the triazole rings of four symmetry-related bbtz ligands and two N atoms from two symmetry-related monodentate NCO À ligands. The Co II atoms are bridged by four bbtz ligands to form a twodimensional (4,4)-network.

The crystal structure of the title compound, {[Cu(C 12 H 12 N 6 )]-ClO 4 } n , consists of a one-dimensional cationic copper(I) chain and uncoordinated ClO 4 À anions. In the cationic chain, the Cu I center, which lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis, is coordinated by two N atoms from t
