✦ Synopsis
The crystal structure of the title compound, {[Cu(C 12 H 12 N 6 )]-ClO 4 } n , consists of a one-dimensional cationic copper(I) chain and uncoordinated ClO 4 À anions. In the cationic chain, the Cu I center, which lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis, is coordinated by two N atoms from two 1,4-bis(1,2,4triazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene ligands, giving a linear coordination geometry, and the 1,4-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene ligand adopts a bis-monodentate bridging mode, linking Cu I atoms. The anion O atoms are disordered equally over two sites.
Related literature
The corresponding copper(II) coordination polymer has a double-stranded chain structure (Li et al., 2005).
