✦ Synopsis
Calculations ha¨e been made for rotationally symmetric monopole antennas with different shapes by the moment method. By comparing the VSWR, the gain, and the ¨olume of the antenna, an ideal configuration is obtained. Some useful references for the antenna design ha¨e been gi¨en. Theoretical and experimental results are compared, and the agreement is excellent.

former applied as a /4 matching line between two different impedances, and is also without etching in the ground plane. Two typical examples are introduced: matching between 50⍀ and 25⍀ and between 50⍀ and 12.5⍀. In both cases the reduction of the length of the proposed /4 line is 60% (or higher), c
## Abstract This article provides a study of monopoles derived from planar configurations by repeated plate rotation. A comparison of four prototypes shows that an increasing number of plates broadens the H‐plane 100% pattern uniformity bandwidth. At the same time, a very broad impedance bandwidth
## Abstract A broadband low‐profile cylindrical monopole antenna, top‐loaded with a shorted circular patch, is presented. For 1800‐MHz operation, the antenna shows a low profile of only 11 mm, corresponding to about 6.6% of the wavelength at 1800 MHz. In addition, the antenna has a wide bandwidth (
## Abstract A novel low‐profile broadband printed monopole antenna suitable for VHF operations on vehicles is presented. The proposed monopole antenna is printed on a flexible printed circuit board and then folded onto a cylindrical foam base. A constructed prototype suitable for operation in the 2
## Abstract This paper describes a wire‐patch air‐filled antenna, made up of two metallic stacked plates and center fed by a coaxial probe. This radiating element, which uses the original resonance phenomenon due to the presence of wires between the ground plane, the first and the second metallic s
