โฆ Synopsis
A genomic library of the asexual pathogenic yeast Candida albicans was constructed in the S. eerevisiae vector YEp13. The library contains a representation of the entire genome with a probability of 99%. The expression of the genes of C. albicans in S. cerevisiae was examined and two mutations his3-1 and trp1-289 of S. cerevisiae were complemented by the cloned genes of C. albicans. The hybridization data indicates that the plasmids complementing the mutations of S. cerevisiae contain sequences from C.

A plasmid vector (denoted pRC2312) was constructed, which replicates autonomously in Escherichia coli, Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Candida albicans. It contains LEU2, URA3 and an autonomously replicating sequence (ARS) from C. albicans for selection and replication in yeasts, and bla (ampicillin re
The gene encoding ornithine decarboxylase, SPE1, from the pathogenic yeast Candida albicans has been isolated by complementation of an ornithine decarboxylase-negative (spe1 delta) strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Four transformants, three of which contain plasmids with the SPE1 gene, were isolat
A gene bank of Sau3A partially digested Candida albicans DNA in vector YEp13 was used to complement a ura3 mutation (orotidine-5'-phosphate decarboxylase, OMPdecase) in S. cerevisiae. Two plasmids which complemented ura3 and showed clear linkage of Ura+ and plasmid markers were selected for further
As a first step in an analysis of the DNA regions involved in the control of the catalase A gene of Saecharomyees cerevisiae by glucose, heine, and oxygen this gene has been cloned. Catalase A-deficient mutants were obtained by UV mutagenesis of a cttl mutant strain specifically lacking catalase T.
To study the function of GCR3, a gene involved in the expression of glycolytic genes in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, a Candida albicans gene which complements the growth defect of the gcr3 mutant was isolated. Transformants of this gene also recovered the glycolytic enzyme activities. Its DNA sequencin
