✦ Synopsis


In this article, the authors discuss useful techniques for information analysis in the CI process. Nowadays, managers usually suffer of a flood of information that takes too much time to select and analyze for decision-making. Managers also are faced with a negotiation or "bargain" process, which requires some kind of mathematical support for ranking alternative actions. The problems of the information flood can be solved through data-mining techniques that allow for the discovery of hidden knowledge in the pieces of available information available. Moreover, a mathematically based decision-making support theory provides "bargaining" support. The authors experience with such techniques is presented.
