✦ Synopsis
In 1996, the American Productivity and Quality Center (APQC) initiated a benchmarking study of competitive intelligence practices. John Prescott and Jan Herring were the subject matter experts for the study, which focused on identifying the processes that leading-edge companies use to implement their competitive intelligence programs. Pegi Panfely was the project manager for the six-month Competitive and Business Intelligence Consortium Benchmarking Study. The following is adapted from a presentation about the study findings, given last May at the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals 12th Annual International Conference & Exhibit in San Diego.
