The lactic acid bacteria from dried El-Klila, an Algerian traditional cheese were studied, The cheese was also examined for chemical and physical characteristics. The isolated strains from sample K1 belonged to Enterococcus faecalis, Enterococcus faecium, Lactobacillus confusus and Streptococcus sp.
