โœฆ Synopsis

A time-resolved fluorescence technique is employed to measure the time-dependent Stokes shift of coumarins 102 and 153 in non-aqueous electrolyte solutions. The electrolyte relaxation time exhibits a linear dependence on the electrolyte concentration in the range 10 mM-1 M.

We report on an increase in the steady-state fluorescence Stokes shift of coumarin 153 when LiCI04 is added to polar solvents. A new relaxation process is observed in the presence of the electrolyte which is related to the ionic atmosphere relaxation around the large dipole created in the excited s

We study the non-linear effects on the dynamical process of the salvation in a polar solvent. On the basis of the non-linear generalized Smoluchowski equation with the linear-response free energy, we calculate the time dependence of the solvent-solute interaction. It is shown that the salvation proc

A theoretical analysis of the effects of salt concentration on solvation dynamics in electrolyte solutions is presented. The theory includes properly the inertial and non-Markovian effects of ions and solvent molecules. A detailed analysis is made of the short-time and long-time parts of the relaxat

The effects of non-equilibrium solvation dynamics on zero-barrier photoisomerization reactions are studied theoretically. A theory based on general considerations is presented. A two-state model for the time dependence of the sink function is introduced and solved analytically for the survival proba

The dynamics of I2 dissociation and recombination (caging) in a macrocluster are reported, covering the femtosecond to picosecond time domain. Both the exit-channel and recombination dynamics are observed and related to solute-solvent interactions, The dissociation involves bond breakage on bound/re
