Self-Raman frequency conversion in a diode-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:GdVO 4 laser has been demonstrated. The use of LiF:F - 2 crystal as a saturable absorber has provided effective Q-switching of the Nd:GdVO 4 laser with high pulse energy. The laser pulse duration at the 1 st Stokes wavelength

β¦ Synopsis
We report for the first time a Nd:GdVO 4 laser operating in a continuous wave (CW) on the quasi-three-level laser at 893 nm, based on the 4 F 3/2 -4 I 9/2 transition, generally used for a 912 nm emission. The use of a pump module with 16 passes through the crystal allowed the realization of a Nd:GdVO4 thin-disk laser with 157 mW of CW output power at 893 nm. Moreover, intracavity second-harmonic generation (SHG) has also been achieved with a power of 23 mW at 447 nm by using a BiB3O6 (BiBO) nonlinear crystal.

A power of 1.13 W at 880 nm has been achieved in continuous-wave operation with a fiber-coupled laser diode emitting 28.6 W at 808 nm. Furthermore, intracavity secondharmonic gener
Higher order processes that produced visible fluorescence observed in Nd:GdVO4 laser crystals pumped by 808 nm diode-laser were studied in the spectroscopic measurements. These processes were the energy transfer upconversion and the excited state absorption. The green, orange and the red emissions c
We report for the first time a continuous wave Yb0.06:Y0.32Gd0.62VO4 (Yb:YGdVO4) laser, based on the 2 F 5/2 -2 F 7/2 transition. The free running Yb:YGdVO 4 thindisk laser oscillation takes place at many different wavelengths, covering a wide range of 1037.
