✦ Synopsis

In the title compound, [Zn 2 (C 14 H 8 N 2 O 4 )(C 2 H 8 N 2 ) 2 ]Á2C 3 H 7- NOÁ2H 2 O, the Zn 2 complex molecule lies on a crystallographic inversion centre. The two Zn atoms are bridged by two diazine N atoms of a 1,2-bis(salicyloyl)hydrazine(4À) ligand (bsh 4À ); the inversion centre is located at the mid-point of the N-N bond. The coordination geometry of the Zn atom is distorted square-pyramidal. Each water molecule is linked with three surrounding binuclear complexes through four hydrogen bonds, resulting in a two-dimensional network.
