✦ Synopsis
A recently developed procedure to treat solvent effects of ring proton byperfiie constutts of semiquinones is npplied to I$-benzosemiquinone and its two mono-methyl derivatives. The results imply that the spin distribution is largely determined by the influence of the solvent. This explains the failure of traditional calc&tions :o describe the ESR spectm of these radicals.
