Adenylate cyclase activity was determined using a purified plasma membrane fraction prepared from isolated adipocytes by a Percoll gradient centrifugation procedure. The activation of adenylate cyclase by isoprenaline was reduced by approximately 50% in membranes from obese mice, although no reducti
