Rate coefficients and products were determined for the title reactions employing a drift tube mass spectrometer apparatus. The implications of these reactions for the ion chemistry of the stratosphere is discussed.

The reactions of pro t&s with CH4, NH3, H20, Snd 02 hnve been examined by the ICR mppd ion and ion ejection methods. The reaction of HC with CH4 produces both the CHZ ion by charge transfer 2nd the CH~ ion by hydride ion abstrxtion in the ratio 2.~3, respectively. The reactions with NH3, H20, and 02
This review presents in tabular and graphical form rate data on the reactions of atomic oxygen (03P) with methane and ethane. The reliability of these data is discussed and suggested values of the rate constants are given over specified temperature intervals. Specific values are given for 298 and 10
The kinetics of the reaction of 0 atoms with NO2 was investigated in the temperature range 199-357 K. The value of the rate constant can be expressed by k, = (5.21 kO.50) x lo-'\* exp [(202\*27)lT] cm3 s-' (3~ error). At temperatures below 230 K, the formation of equilibrium concentrations of N204 a
