## Abstract Utilizing sodium [1βˆ’^14^C]propionate as a precursor, [^14^C]FK‐506, labeled at carbon atoms 10, 16, 18, 21a, 24, and 26, was produced by fermentative biosynthesis. Extractive isolation followed by chromatographic purification provided material of purity suitable for metabolism studies.

## Abstract A convenient gas catalytic process has been developed for the synthesis of radioactive alkali cyanides on micro or semimicro scale. The carbon content of barium carbonate used as starting material can be quantitatively transformed into potassium cyanide in a simple process.
