✦ Synopsis
High-resolution spectra of the (3) 1 ⌸ 3 (2) 3 ⌺ ϩ system of the KRb molecule, obtained after excitation with fixed frequencies Ar ϩ laser lines, were recorded on a Connes-type Fourier transform interferometer. Molecular constants of the first 14 vibrational levels of the (2) 3 ⌺ ϩ state are determined. The RKR potential energy curve is derived. The main spectroscopic constants for this triplet electronic state of the 39 K 85 Rb isotopic species are T e ϭ 13 507.146(2) cm Ϫ1 , e ϭ 48.6385(6) cm Ϫ1 , B e ϭ 0.0254152(5) cm Ϫ1 , ␥ ϭ 0.00164(4) cm Ϫ1 , ⑀ ϭ Ϫ0.469(2) cm Ϫ1 , R e ϭ 4.98345 Å, Ᏸ e ϭ 3447 cm Ϫ1 .

Off-diagonal coupling matrix elements have been calculated between vibrational levels of the C %+ and the D 'Z+ states of HeH, using published potential energy curves and radial coupling matrix elements. The theoretical off-diagonal matrix element between s= 0 of D 2Z+ and o= 3 of C 2Z+ is 39 cm-',
We have measured the rates for quenching of the v = 4 and v = 5 vibrational levels of the A ~ + state of sodium hydride using helium, argon, and nitrogen as the quenching gas. The measured rates are compared with earlier results for state-to-state quenching rates. The measured rates for quenching by
