✦ Synopsis

cm -I. 665 I independent reflections (Siemens AED diffractometer, 0 in the range 3-23", W28 scan technique and Nb-filtered radiation. The structure was solved by direct and Fourier methods and refined by fullmatrix least-squares analysis on the basis of 3278 observed reflections [ I r 2 n ( l ) ] with anisotropic thermal parameters for the Pd, CI, and P atoms (SHELX programs (51). The phenyl rings were treated as rigid groups in the last cycles of the refinement. The hydrogen atoms were placed at their geometrically calculated positions. R ~0 . 0 7 6 , R , =0.080. Five aryl-substituted phenacetyl radicals (X = p-MeO, p-Me, H, p-Cl, p-CF 3 ) were generated by laser photolysis of the corresponding dibenzyl ketones in n-hexane and acetonitrile. The decarbonylation reaction was monitored through the rise in time-resolved absorption of the benzyl radical chromopho

Substituted tetraphenylporphyrinatozinc(II) complexes have been synthesized and characterized by various physicochemical techniques. The effects of substitution and counterions on the redox behaviour and EPR spectra have been examined. The EPR spectra revealed that chemical oxidation with bromine yi
