โฆ Synopsis
Ahstr&-The influence of the anion, of oxygen and of some corrosion inhibitors on the shape of the anodic polarization curve of iron has been investigated by the potentiodynamic method, under controlled conditions.
For samples annealed in hydrogen atmosphere in N HCIO, the anodic polarization curve shows two distinct slopes, 60 mV at low current densities and of 30 mV at higher current densities. In N HISO,I the slopes are respectively of 70 mV and 40 mV. A single slope of 60 mV is obtained in HCl solution. A comparison of these results is made with those obtained by other authors by the transient method.
The small influence of iodide ions on the polarization curves obtained in the presence of phenylthiourea seems to demonstrate that this compound is adsorbed in molecular rather than ionic form. As expected, the inhibiting power of polybutanimine is increased by the presence of iodide ions.

The corrosion processes at open circuit conditions and in the active dissolution region of antimony, at low anodic overpotentials, have been studied in sulphuric acid solutions. It was established that antimony dissolution at open circuit is coupled to oxygen reduction, which occurs via the hydrogen
It has been shown previously that in the steady state the behaviour of the iron electrode at low anodic potentials in perchlorate or sulphate electrolyte solutions may be characterized by two sets of parameters, depending upon the degree of deformation of the metal. Annealed iron will show a Tafel s
## Abstract Ellipsometry has been used to study the influence of Benzylamine, Benzotriazole and Hexamethylenetetramine on the growth of anodic oxides on iron and on AISI 304 stainless steel in borateโbuffer solutions. On iron, a limitation of the growthโrate has been observed for these substances
