## Abstract ## BACKGROUND Tall cell variant papillary carcinoma of the thyroid demonstrates unusually aggressive clinical behavior compared with the usual form of papillary thyroid carcinoma. The proto‐oncogene c‐__met__ encodes a tyrosine kinase receptor known to influence cell invasion. This cur
