✦ Synopsis


14C-Labelled satigrel, or 4-cyano-5-(4'-methoxy tring-U-14CI phenyl)-5-(4"methoxyphenyl)-4-pentenoic acid was synthesized for drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic studies using 4,4'-diniethoxy [ring-U-W ] benzophenone as the starting material. The radiochemical yield was 10.0%. The specific radioactivity and radiochemical purity, as determined by radio-HPLC analysis, were 10.3 MBq(277.2 pCi)/rng and 98.8%, respectively.

14C labelled Metribuzine was synthetised in a five step synthesis firom sodium [l-14C]pivalate (trimethyl acetic acid) via o-brom0-[2-~~C]pinacoline (l-bromo-3,3-dimethyl-butan-2-on) and trimethyl [2-14C]pyruvic acid. The total yield was 30% (calculated on sodium pivalate).
