✦ Synopsis

The synthesis of 8-methyl-PGC22 and 12-methyl-PGAa3 and -PGE24 has been described recently. Degradation to biological inactive PGB-derivatives 1s lmpossible in these compounds.

We now wish to report the synthesis of the lO,lO-dimethyl-PGEl analog A, which cannot be deactivated easily by transformation into prostaglandlns of the cyclopentenone type and might afford more sustained blologlcal potency.
