Die bei der Isomerisierung angefallenen cis-Isomeren gaben bei erneuter Isomerisierung mit Jod eine woitcre Xenge reines trans-B-Carotin. Auhrdem konnte durch nochmshge Chromatographie der Mutterlaugcn dio Ausbeute vergrbl3ert werden. Gesamtausbeuto 50 mg reines trans-p-Carotin.

Beim Vorteilen zwischen Petroliither und Methanol wurde hier ein Diol (XXIa) erhalton mit Maxima bei 335, 348,365 mp. Diesea Diol wurdo wie ') H.Brockmann und H. Schodder, Bcr. 74, 73 (1941).
