β¦ Synopsis
Measurements of speeds of sound u have been made in binary liquid mixtures of cyclohexanone (C 6 H 10 O) and dichloromethane (CH 2 Cl 2 ), or trichloromethane (CHCl 3 ), or trichloroethene (CHClCCl 2 ), or 1,2-dichloroethane (CH 2 ClCH 2 Cl) at T = 303.15 K. The values of u have been used to calculate the apparent excess speeds of sound u and the isentropic compressibilities ΞΊ S for these mixtures. The excess isentropic compressibilities ΞΊ E S have also been calculated from the values of ΞΊ S . The ΞΊ E S property has been found to be negative throughout the entire composition range for mixtures of C 6 H 10 O and CH 2 Cl 2 , or CHCl 3 , or CHClCCl 2 . For {xC 6 H 10 O + (1 -x)CH 2 ClCH 2 Cl}, ΞΊ E S has been found to be positive at low values of x and negative at higher values of x, with an inversion of sign occurring at x β 0.24. The values of u and ΞΊ E S have been fitted to representative equations.

This paper reports experimental values of speeds of sound, densities, and refractive indices of (anisole + benzene, or toluene, or n-hexane, or cyclohexane, or 1-butanol, or 1pentanol) at T = 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure over the whole concentration range, the corresponding excess and derived p
Densities, speeds of sound and refractive indices have been measured for (n-hexane + cyclohexane + 1-hexanol) and its corresponding binaries at T = 298.15 K. In addition, ideal isentropic compressibilities were calculated from the speeds of sound, densities, and literature heat capacities and cubic
Excess molar enthalpies of (2-butanone + cyclohexane, or methylcyclohexane, or toluene, or chlorobenzene, or cyclohexanone) and excess molar heat capacities of (2-butanone + benzene, or toluene, or chlorobenzene, or cyclohexanone) were measured at T = 298.15 K. Aliphatic systems were endothermic and
Excess molar enthalpies H E m at T = 298.15 K are reported for (N -methyl-2pyrrolidinone + chlorobenzene, or 1,2-dichlorobenzene, or 1,3-dichlorobenzene, or 1,2,4,-trichlorobenzene). The values of H E m were obtained by using the flow calorimetric method. All the mixtures, over the whole composition
