A flow microcalorimeter of the Picker design was used to measure excess molar enthalpies H E m at the temperature 298.15 K over the whole composition range of several binary liquid mixtures formed from an alkanoic acid and either n-heptane, or cyclohexane, or benzene. The alkanoic acids selected wer

✦ Synopsis
This paper reports experimental values of speeds of sound, densities, and refractive indices of (anisole + benzene, or toluene, or n-hexane, or cyclohexane, or 1-butanol, or 1pentanol) at T = 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure over the whole concentration range, the corresponding excess and derived properties being computed from the experimental data. The results were fitted by means of the Redlich-Kister equation, such parameters being gathered. Different estimative methods were applied and qualitative agreement between the experimental and theoretical values both in magnitude and sign was obtained.
