The EEGs were recorded on a Nihon Kohden machine with fourteen channels and five different montages, using the 10-20 system of electrode placement. Recordings were done for 15 to 20 minutes in both waking, drowsiness, and occasionally stage 2 sleep. Each cortical-stimulation session included between
