Abstract
^14^C~2~‐Pentaerythritol (^14^C‐PE) at approximately 8 mCi/mmole was prepared in 76% yield on a 3‐mmole scale via a base‐catalyzed condensation of acetaldehyde‐^14^C~2~ with 1.5% aqueous CH~2~O.

## Abstract A selective and quantitative method was developed for a microscale preparation of 4‐thiouracil‐2‐^14^C by the direct thiation of uracil‐2‐^14^C. From pyridine, dioxane, and tetralin as the thiation solvents, the best yield was obtained in dioxane (96.6% of 4‐thiouracil‐2‐^14^C). The sim
A protocol for producing 14 C 2 -cis-1,2-dichloroethylene ( 14 C 2 -cis-DCE) from 14 C 2trichloroethylene ( 14 C 2 -TCE) was developed as an economical alternative to commercial, custom synthesis of 14 C 2 -cis-DCE. The method uses 5,10,15,20tetrakis-(4-carboxyphenyl) porphyrin cobalt(II) as a catal
