✦ Synopsis
Abstract
This Letter describes a dual‐band microstrip patch antenna with a balanced center‐fed feeding configuration and a pair of slots near the radiating edges of the patch. The effects of the slots on the impedance and radiation characteristics of the antenna are experimentally examined. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A no¨el microstrip-fed slot-coupled dual-stacked self-complementary patch antenna is designed and presented. Measured results show that the impedance bandwidth of the self-complementary patch antenna is wider than a con¨entional microstrip-fed slot-coupled dualstacked patch antenna. Radiation patter
A wideband pentagon-slot microstrip antenna with a semicircle probe feed is proposed. The broadband characteristic is achieved by cutting a pentagon slot at each corners of the patch. The proposed antenna is able to achieve an impedance bandwidth of 68.3% for a VSWR of less than 2. Experimental comp
## Abstract Two types of cavity‐backed slot (CBS) antennas fed by a microstrip line and operating at 5.8 GHz are described in this letter. One is a broadband linearly polarized CBS antenna, which can provide 34% bandwidth for a 10‐dB return loss. The other is a circularly polarized dual T‐shape CBS
## Abstract A generalized method is presented to determine the resonant frequency of slot‐loaded rectangular microstrip patch antenna by equating its area to an equivalent area of a rectangular microstrip patch antenna. The computed results are in good agreement with the reported simulated and meas
## Abstract A planar‐fed circular‐polarised (CP) microstrip patch antenna is presented and discussed. It is demonstrated that embedding four right‐angle triangular slots in a nearly square patch antenna and exciting with an offset inset feed, size reduction of up to 43% can be achieved while still
