✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A planar‐fed circular‐polarised (CP) microstrip patch antenna is presented and discussed. It is demonstrated that embedding four right‐angle triangular slots in a nearly square patch antenna and exciting with an offset inset feed, size reduction of up to 43% can be achieved while still maintaining planar impedance matching. The proposed design shows no significant reduction in the axial‐ratio bandwidth and has relaxed manufacturing tolerances. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A compact circularly‐polarized (CP) design of a microstrip patch antennas is presented. The proposed antenna is fed by the coupling of a ring slot in the ground plane of a microstrip line. The results show that the required patch size of the proposed design at a fixed CP operating frequ
A no¨el compact circular polarization CP design of a single-feed equilateral-triangular microstrip antenna with a Y-shaped slot is presented. The Y-shaped slot is cut in the patch with its upper two arms facing either the triangle tip or the bottom side of the triangular patch. Results show that, wi
This paper presents a new, compact, dual-frequency design of single-feed circular microstrip antennas with an offset circular slot placed close to the patch boundary. It is found that, when the radius of the offset slot is about 0.38᎐0.62 times the radius of the circular patch, dual-frequency operat
A design of broadband circular microstrip antenna with embedded reacti¨e loading directly matched to a 50 ⍀ microstrip feed line is presented. This design is achie¨ed owing to the integrated reacti¨e loading, a T-shaped microstrip-line section embedded in a nearly rectangular slot cut near the patch
