β¦ Synopsis
Fourteen dolichylpyrophosphoryloligosaccharides, precursors of the asparagine-linked oligosaccharides of glycoproteins, have been separated by liquid chromatography on silica gel. The dolichylpyrophosphoryyl-N-acetylglucosamine and the dolichylpyrophosphoryl-(N-acetylglucosamine),-(mannose),(glucose) 2,3 thus resolved were shown to retain their activity as substrates in enzyme catalyzed reactions. The chromatography procedure for the first time makes available many of these single intermediates for further study.

A process is described for the separation of binary liquid mixtures by a method which is fundamentally the same as extractive distillation but uses a finely divided solid as a carrier for the non-volatile solvent. A non-volatile solvent absorbed on the surface of crushed kieselguhr flows down a colu
I J The high speed liquid chromatographic behavior of 21 sulfonamides was studied. Analysis of the effect of the ionic strength of the mobile phase upon retention times and of concomitant effects on peak widths resulted in a scheme that can be applied to the separation of many combinations of sulfon
