Rate constants for the reaction of CN( u= 0) with Cl,, FZ and O2 have been measured. CN radicals were generated by photolysis of C2Nz with pulsed radiation at 193 nm. Laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) was used to monitor the decay profiles of CN radical concentrations. The valuesobtainedare: k(CN/CI?) =(6.OiO.3)~ 10-'2cm' s-';k(CN/F,)= (6.4*0.8)X 10-'4cm's-';and k(CN/01)=(2.2ir0.2)X IO-"cm's-I.
