โœฆ Synopsis

Using a relative rate method, rate constants have been measured for the gasphase reactions of the OH radical with the dibasic esters dimethyl succinate

The rate constants ob-298 ฯฎ 3 K. tained were (in units of ): dimethyl succinate, dimethyl

10 cm molecule s 1.4 ฯฎ 0.6; glutarate, and dimethyl adipate, where the indicated errors include the 3.3 ฯฎ 1.1; 8.4 ฯฎ 2.5, estimated overall uncertainty of ฯฎ25% in the rate constant for cyclohexane, the reference compound. The calculated tropospheric lifetimes of these dibasic esters due to gas-phase reaction with the OH radical range from 1.4 days for dimethyl adipate to 8.3 days for dimethyl succinate for a average OH radical concentration of แญง 1998

The gas-phase reaction of bornyl acetate (bicyclo[2,2,1]-heptan-2-ol-1,7,7-trimethyl-acetate) with hydroxyl radical has been studied. A relative method was used to determine the rate constant for this reaction, with n-octane as reference compound. Methyl nitrite photolysis experiments were carried

Using a relative rate method, rate constants for the gas-phase reactions of 2methyl-3-buten-2-ol (MBO) with OH radicals, ozone, NO 3 radicals, and Cl atoms have been investigated using FTIR.
