✦ Synopsis
Some experience relevant to the production of "F in three chemical forms (['sF]F,, H'sF, 18F.;) via the '-ONe(d, a)18F process using a Ne gas target is described. Production of ['*F]F2 and H'*F was done by introducing some technical modifications in standard methods. For '*F,s production a post irradiation target wash system was used. Methods used for the characterization of various chemical forms of radiofluorine are outlined.

Fluorination with 18F-F2 and 18F-AcOF were compared for the synthesis of 18F-fluorophenylalanines. L-phenylalanine in CF,COOH trapped 18F-AcOF more effectively than 18F-F2. The main product was ortho-18F-fluorophenylalanine when 18F-AcOF was used as a reagent. Lower radiochemical yield of 18F-fluoro
