Zero-field-splitting parameters D and E for the fullerene GO in its Jahn-Teller distorted triplet state were calculated and compared to recent experimental results. The E value vanishes due to symmetry, while we obtained a non-zero k) value of D = -0.009 cm-' in the Ds distorted lowest triplet state

β¦ Synopsis
The p&ization chuacteristics of the zero-field (20 transitions of benzophenone in bis(4-bromophenyl)ether arc examined at 1.6 K using optical detection. The results indicate that the. trmsitions are mostly magnetic dipole irl nature and that the size ofthe electric dipole transition moment resulting from spin-orbit perturbation is Less than low4 debyc. This is being blamed on the small moment of {he n, TT +* r, n* triplet-triplet transition that 'could provide electric alIo~'-rlIlce in these mnagnetic transitions. Anomalous magnetic dipole results are obhined on the nb face that can he exphincd by mixing with host crystal states.
