The excited triplet states of 1,3-cyclodienes produced by photosensitization are studied by time-resolved ESR at 77 K. The zerofield splitting (ZFS) constants of 1,3-cyclodienes are influenced by the change of the molecular framework. Simple Hiickel MO calculation provides qualitative aspects of ZFS

β¦ Synopsis
The spin-polarized excited triplet state of stilbene formed by the photosensitization in a mice&u aggregate, which was employed as an efficient reaction field, has been detected by a time-resolved ESR technique. Both trans-and cis-stilbene provided triplet states having nearly identical zfs constants.

Electron spin resonance spectra of the lowest excited triplet state of 9,10-anthnquinone are detected in a gass matrix at 77 K using a time-resolved technique. Computer simulation trials of the randomly oriented spin-polarized ESR spectra lead to the postuiare of a wide d~t~b~tion of the zero-field
Triplet electron transfer is observed in a covalently linked porphyrin-quinone in ethanol at temperatures between 160 and I30 IC. Both, the primary porphyrin triplet state 'P-Q and the radxal pair (+P-Q-)T created by light-induced charge separation, are observed by time-reaclved EPR. The latter is i
Dynamics of MBBA (N-(4-methoxybenzylidene)-4-n-butylaniline) in ethanol at a liquid-solid interface is selectively detected using the transient grating method with total internal reflection for probe light. The thermal grating signal decays much faster than that in bulk liquid. This faster decay is
