## Abstract An oncornavirus‐like agent has been described in HeLa cells of human origin (Gelderblom __et al.__, 1974). The investigation of its protein constituents revealed a pattern similar to but different from that of known oncornaviruses. Six polypeptides with molecular weights (mw) between 12

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Oncornavirus‐like particles observed and purified from HeLa cell culture supernates have a density in sucrose of 1.16‐1.17 g/cm^3^. They contain DNA polymerase and ribonuclease activities with properties characteristic of reverse transcriptase and ribonuclease H of known oncornaviruses. The DNA polymerase and RNase H are antigenically similar to those of Mason‐Pfizer monkey virus.

## Abstract Oncornavirus‐like particles have been consistently observed over a period of 3 years in HeLa cells obtained from several laboratories. The particles mature by budding, in that previously fully assembled A‐type‐like particles are enveloped by the protruding cell membrane with subsequent
In this work the maximal operational hydrodynamic conditions (agitation and aeration rate) that cause no adverse effect in Sf-9 cells growth in SF900II serumfree medium were determined. Shear stresses higher than 1 N m -2 and aeration rates higher than 0.04 vvm affect cell growth and when these cond
## Abstract The effect of interferon on the synthesis and release of A‐, B‐ and C‐type viruses by oncornavirus carrier lines was studied. Murine cell lines were selected which carry either of these viruses and are sensitive to the antiviral effect of interferon, as measured by inhibition of vesicul
