✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A slot‐type split‐ring resonator (SRR) as a new type of perturbation element for dual‐mode square patch resonator is introduced in this article. The slot‐type SRR used in the patch resonator allows coupling between the two degenerate modes. Moreover, coupling characteristics can be adjusted by the location of slot‐type SRR. By adding two notches in the dual‐mode filter with slot‐type SRR, the high degenerate mode near the passband is eliminated, and the center frequency is lowered slightly. It has been verified by both simulation and measurement. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett, 2011; View this article online at wileyonlinelibrary.com. DOI 10.1002/mop.26148
