✦ Synopsis
The structure of the title compound (NNDC4CBSA), C 6 H 4 Cl 3 NO 2 S, resembles that of N,N-dichloro-4methylbenzenesulfonamide (NNDC4MBSA). In particular, the structure is relatively simple, unlike those of the sodium salts of N-chloroarylsulfonamides. Furthermore, the S-N distance of 1.759 (5) A ˚is consistent with the value of 1.735 (5) A ˚observed with NNDC4MBSA, the value for an S-N single bond. The molecules are packed into zigzag chains in the direction of the a axis.

In the title compound, C 15 H 18 N 2 O 2 S, the angle between the two benzene rings is 96.3 (3) A ˚. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked via intermolecular N-HÁ Á ÁO and C-HÁ Á ÁO interactions.
In the title compound, C 12 H 15 ClN 2 OS, the thiocarbonyl and carbonyl groups are twisted with respect to one another. Molecules are linked through N-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds, forming chains along the c axis.
Molecules of the title compound, C 16 H 16 N 2 O 3 S, are linked by N-HÁ Á ÁS hydrogen bonds to form centrosymmetric dimers [NÁ Á ÁS = 3.4501 (13) A ˚]. The N 0 -phenyl and N-phenyl rings are twisted by 52.7 (1) and 23.3 (1) , respectively, from the essentially planar -NHC( S)NC( O)-moiety.
