A rapid-scanning ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) detector was interfaced successfully with capillary supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC). The pseudo on-column detection approach was used to produce a detector dead volume of less than 60 nL. High sensitivity (low picogram detection limits), a large

β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
Methoximation of reducing oligosaccharides, combined with the additional derivatization of hydroxy groups, yields derivatives suitable for capillary supercritical fluid chromatography with thermionic detection. Detection limits on the order of picogramβperβsecond can easily be achieved. The utility of this analytical procedure has been verified by the analysis of the carbohydrate content of chicken trypsin inhibitor.

## Abstract A stoppedβflow procedure for capillary supercritical fluid Chromatography with Fourier transform infrared detection is described. The flow of mobile phase is stopped so that the analyte peak is held under liquid conditions in the flow cell while FTIR scans are recorded. An increase in t
A sample introduction system for capillary supercritical fluid chromatography, which allows the dissolution of the sample in the supercritical mobile phase before being introduced into the column, was constructed and evaluated. Supercritical n-pentane was shown to solvate high-molecular-weight polyc
## Abstract A splitless injection method using makeβup flow was developed for SFC. Dilution of sample solvent with carbon dioxide mobile phase was very effective for focusing the solutes onto the column. Injection of a 4.5βΞΌl sample volume on a 100βΞΌm i.d. capillary column became possible.
