✦ Synopsis
Model prostaglandins were reacted with dimethylthiophosphinic chloride to form suitable derivatives using dimethylaminopyridine as a catalyst for supercritical fluid chromatography with thermionic detection. The high sensitivity of this phosphorus-selective detector makes it feasible to detect biologically important prostaglandins and related metabolites in physiological fluids at nanogramper-milliliter concentrations.
