The title vanadium complex, [VClO(C 16 H 22 N 4 )]ClO 4 , of the tetradentate ligand N,N H -dimethyl-N,N H -bis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine was obtained from air oxidation of a mixture of the ligand and VCl 3 in wet methanol.
In the title compound, [Zn(C 7 H 4 ClO 2 ) 2 (C 7 H 8 N 2 O 2 ) 2 ], the Zn II ion is coordinated by two N atoms from two methyl N-(3pyridyl)carbamate ligands and four O atoms from two bidentate 2-chlorobenzoate anions in a pseudo-octahedral geometry.
